Demes Awarded Major Contract By Rexam

The relationship between Rexam, one of Europe’s main consumer glass packaging manufacturers and Demes, a leading provider of returnable packaging management services, is going from strength to strength.

Demes, which already manages a pan-European supply contract for plastic layer pads to Rexam, has taken over a pallet depot in the Netherlands near Tilburg to service the timber pallet pool of Rexam Glass Dongen B.V.

The depot will handle over 9,000 pallets every week providing a comprehensive service of sorting, checking and repair. The ready-to-use pallets will then be supplied to Rexam’s production unit in line with production forecasts. In addition, Demes will maintain the SAP system of Rexam Glass Dongen B.V. to ensure that control of the pallet pool is maintained within the Rexam supply chain.

The contract is another illustration of Demes’ expertise in the provision of the technology-led pool management of returnable packaging within Europe.
